The invention of the GPS is just incredible. It saves paper printing maps and saves time traveling. However, it’s still a piece of technology that has to be perfected. One thing that it does sometimes is make you go in circles or takes a route around the city. Make sure you have an idea of where you’re going. You don’t have to memorize the street names or anything like that. It would defeat the purpose. However, just have an idea of the general direction and major roads. One time we were traveling to the US from Canada and it showed a route that basically took an extra 4 hours. If you press “detour” by mistake, it can really screw up things immediately. What’s really annoying is that it doesn’t recognize certain streets and sometimes you have to spell things exactly or it doesn’t show up. Always plan your trips ahead of time. Don’t wait until you get in the car.
